Precoding for egress reduction in DMT transmitters

چکیده
Discrete multi tone (DMT) uses an inverse discrete fourier transform (IDFT) to modulate data on the carriers. The high side lobes of the IDFT filter bank can lead to spurious emissions (egress) in unauthorised frequency bands. Applying a window function within the DMT symbol alleviates this, but introduces distortions that are generally not easy to compensate for. In this paper a special class of window functions is constructed that corresponds to a precoding at the transmitter and that requires only a modest amount of processing at the receiver for this compensation. 1 Precoding for egress reduction in DMT transmitters Gert Cuypers Member, IEEE, Geert Ysebaert Student Member, IEEE, Koen Vanbleu Student Member, IEEE, Marc Moonen Member, IEEE. Intra-Symbol Windowing for Egress Reduction in DMT Transmitters
Discrete multitone (DMT) uses an inverse discrete Fourier transform (IDFT) to modulate data on the carriers. The high sidelobes of the IDFT filter bank used can lead to spurious emissions (egress) in unauthorized frequency bands. Applying a window function within the DMT symbol can alleviate this. However, window functions either require additional redundancy or will introduce distortions that ...
متن کاملExperimental investigation of multi-band OCT precoding for OFDM-based visible light communications.
In this paper, we propose and experimentally demonstrate a channel-independent multi-band orthogonal circulant matrix transform (MB-OCT) precoding, to efficiently combat the severe frequency-selective fading of visible light communications (VLC). The proposed MB-OCT precoding exhibits an attractive ladder-like signal-to-noise-ratio (SNR) profile, thus can significantly reduce system BER by appl...

In this thesis, different aspects of lattice-based precoding and decoding for the transmission of digital and analog data over MIMO fading channels are investigated: 1) Lattice-based precoding in MIMO broadcast systems: A new viewpoint for adopting the lattice reduction in communication over MIMO broadcast channels is introduced. Lattice basis reduction helps us to reduce the average transmitte...
متن کاملPhase Precoding for the Compute-and-Forward Protocol
The compute-and-forward (CoF) is a relaying protocol, which uses algebraic structured codes to harness the interference and remove the noise in wireless networks. We propose the use of phase precoders at the transmitters of a network, where relays apply CoF strategy. Firstly, we define the phase precoded computation rate and show that it is greater than the original computation rate of CoF prot...
متن کاملThe Diversity Multiplexing Tradeoff for Interference Networks
The diversity-multiplexing tradeoff (DMT) for interference networks, such as the interference channel, the X channel, the Z interference channel and the Z channel, is analyzed. In particular, we investigate the impact of rate-splitting and channel knowledge at the transmitters. We also use the DMT of the Z channel and the Z interference channel to distill insights into the “loud neighbor” probl...
